Bear Branch Junior High National Honor Society
All seventh and eighth grade students who have a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 or higher after the second 9-weeks will be invited to apply for this prestigious honor.  Invitations/application packets will be passed out no later than late January for potential membership in the 2020-2021 school year.  The application packet must be turned in to be considered for membership. 
Acceptance/Denial letters for the 2020-2021 chapter, will be passed out the before the end of January 2020.  A practice for induction will be held after school February 20, 2020 at 2:35-3:30, in the cafeteria.  Induction will be held at the Magnolia Event Center @ 6:30 PM on February 24, 2020.
The NJHS focuses on five criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character.
A panel of faculty members will review each candidate’s packet and essay. Students who are chosen as active members of BBJH's National Junior Honor Society will then take part in the spring induction ceremony. Active student members will be expected to maintain their GPA, demonstrate the highest level of leadership, citizenship, and character, and to complete the minimum of 20 community service hours throughout the year, in order to maintain membership.
