Principal

Dr. Julia Venghaus

I am excited for my third year as Principal of Bear Branch Junior High! In my 15 years of education I have served as junior high and high school math teacher and Assistant Principal.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Texas A&M University, Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Sam Houston State University and Doctor of Education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

I am married to Brian Venghaus, who teaches and coaches at Magnolia Junior High. We have been happily married for 14 years and have two children who both attend MISD schools. We attend Stonebridge Church and love living within the Magnolia community.

I am looking forward to another great year at Bear Branch JH and am honored to serve as your student’s principal.

Kimberly Williams - 7th Grade

Kimberly Williams

I am excited that my 27th year in education will be serving the Bear Branch Junior High community as the 7th grade Assistant Principal. Previously, I have served as a middle school and high school Assistant Principal, and my classroom experience includes both elementary and secondary.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's Degree in Administration and Supervision both from the University of Houston-Victoria.

My husband has made a career in law enforcement after serving in the United States Marine Corps and our greatest success was raising our two now-adult children. We are empty nesters and intentionally chose the Magnolia community to be our forever home!

I am looking forward to this 2024-2025 school year as a Bear and in this community!

Josh Jacobs - 8th Grade

Josh Jacobs

I am so excited for another phenomenal year at Bear Branch Junior High! I began my career as a teacher and coach in Wichita Falls, Texas before having the honor of moving to Magnolia ISD in 2019. I worked within MISD as a teacher, coach, and academic coordinator at Magnolia High School prior to moving to BBJH in 2022.

I received a Bachelor of Art in History with a Minor in Sociology from Midwestern State University, a master’s degree in educational leadership from Texas Tech University, and I am currently pursuing my doctorate from Texas Tech as well.

My wife, Monica, works at Magnolia Intermediate as a 5th grade math teacher, and we have two sons named Lane and Logan.
